The annual Rivalry Day game between Middlesex and St. George's, which kicked off at 11am, was a thrilling match that did not disappoint the neutral fan. St. George's was dangerous in transition all day, as Cristian Ayala and Nicholas Alberga looked to spring Teddy Nemec throughout the match. The first half was relatively devoid of clear cut scoring chances until late in the half when Middlesex had numbers in the box and Bear Tibbitt picked out an open Teddy Fritzinger for a close range finish and the 1-0 halftime lead for the home side. There were many more chances in the second half, as Fritzinger rounded the keeper but dragged the ball just wide of the open net and Danny Cai played a breakaway shot into the keeper at the near post. Middlesex created some distance 12 minutes into the half when Aidan Falvey showed a turn of pace on the wing to beat his man to attack the byline. Falvey's pull back cross found Theo Moore, who thumped the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out to double the lead to 2-0. A lot of grit and determination from St. George's marked the last half hour, but Zebras kept the clean sheet thanks to keepers George Leness and Owen Crann. Alberga, Ayala, and Nemec stood out for the Dragons. It was a highly competitive and entertaining match with both sides competing fairly and showing pride for the jerseys they were wearing.
