The Middlesex Girls' Soccer team made the short trip to Groton, Mass. to take on the Spartans of Lawrence Academy on an unseasonably hot October afternoon. The heat seemed to take the sizzle out of both teams in the first half, as scoring opportunities for both teams went unfulfilled, and the halftime whistle blew with no goals on the board.

Both teams picked up their energy in the second half, and the pace of play quickened. Both Middlesex and Lawrence created some quality scoring situations, but goalkeepers for both teams were determined to keep clean sheets. Although MX put together a great last gasp effort, the final whistle concluded a scoreless draw. A huge shoutout to our tandem goalkeepers, Grace Bishop '24 and Ella Labib '24, for keeping the potent Lawrence offense off of the board.

The ISL campaign continues on Saturday, as Middlesex hosts Brooks on Chapel Field.
