Middlesex hosted Milton Academy on a gray fall day for a competitive battle of epic proportions. The first half saw some great chances for each side, as Milton's best chance tested keeper Owen Crann from a set piece and Middlesex created dangerous chances through Olly Mylon, Bryan Mayhew, and Sinjin Doelitzsch. The first half ended with the score tied at 0-0.
In the second half, the first fifteen minutes saw some early opportunities for Middlesex and then a sustained period of possession and pressure from Milton. The deadlock was broken in the 60th minute when sophomore Cavallini-Hsu found some daylight on a counterattack and took his chance with deadly accuracy. Middlesex then enjoyed a run of chances as they threw numbers forward into the Milton box but were not able to capitalize. With the backline more exposed, Milton gained some distance late, as Hayes Benzan finished his penalty kick well after a Milton attacker was dragged down in the box on a counterattack in the 90th minute. Alfred Debah added a third in the 94th minute with a rocket finish to the near post with the game stretched. In the end, Milton took their chances really well and came with waves of attack off of the bench. Josh Partal was the standout player for Milton in the midfield and Hayes Benzan was a physical presence from defensive midfield. Center back Mason Comeau was excellent under pressure as Middlesex pushed forward to create chances. For Middlesex, Quinn Falvey was the standout performer defensively and Olly Mylon proved a handful in attack. It was a spirited and well played match with Milton showing their quality in front of goal to earn a great victory on the road.
