Groton hosted Middlesex for the annual Zebra derby on the Friday afternoon before a Fall Long Weekend.  Conditions were perfect for a rivalry game and both teams came out with great spirit and energy.  The story of the first half was Middlesex doing everything that they could to contain the ever-dangerous Leonardo Serodio for Groton, as he twisted and turned to beat multiple defenders and put pressure on the backline for the visitors.  At the other end of the field, Edward Wilkey was excellent at thwarting the Middlesex attacks with his strong ability to read the game and some elite closing speed.  Middlesex opened the scoring early, as Teddy Fritzinger was played in by Jonah Zaas.  After the early goal, the game settled into a back and forth affair and Groton gave as much pressure on the goal as it received.  After the halftime interval, Middlesex found the net twice in the first five minutes of the second half through Aidan O'Sullivan and Fritzinger to put the match out of reach.  It was a competitive and disciplined game with no cards given.  Quinn Falvey and Hanad Garad were solid for Middlesex defensively and Sinjin Doelitzsch put in an energetic shift in attack.
