On a gray midwinter Saturday, the Middlesex wrestling team traveled to Portsmouth Abbey School for a tri meet against the host Ravens and Lawrence Academy. The Zebras picked up their second win of the season against LA 42-33, while dropping a hard-fought 24-50 dual to Portsmouth. 

Sophomore Fiona Fittante led off the first dual with a tight contest against a senior from Lawrence, and freshman Caleb Mitchell dropped a close decision at 157, while junior Claire Yoon, freshman Kassie Schaeberle, junior Maya Douge, sophomore Kimberley Guzman Flores, junior Ethan Yuan, senior Ben Doty, and freshman Harper Edwards picked up forfeits to cement the team victory.

Marcus Douge looked impressive winning by technical fall to open the dual against Portsmouth Abbey and junior Ethan Yuan followed up with a overtime thriller at 150. Freshmen Caleb Mitchell and Harper Edwards came up just short in very competitive matches, while freshman Jeff Cheng earned a quick fall at 215. Freshman Kassie Schaeberle and junior Maya Douge also impressed with wins by fall over their Abbey opponents.

Middlesex returns to action on Wednesday against returning ISL champion Belmont Hill and Lexington Christian Academy.
