Middlesex Girls' Soccer hosted Pomfret School for a non-league game on a beautiful fall afternoon. It was a competitive match on Chapel field, but Middlesex set the tone from the start. The team possessed the ball well and created great opportunities up front for our forwards. Early in the first half, Kennedy Wilson '23 made a great run down the right flank of the field and crossed the ball perfectly into the 18-yard box. One of Pomfret's defenders attempted to clear the ball, but it deflected into their own net. Middlesex continued to pressure Pomfret's back line, but their goalie kept the team in the game. Just as halftime approached, Pomfret had a hand-ball in the box and co-captain, Mia Williams '23, increased the lead to 2-0. Pomfret came out of halftime with fire, but Middlesex was able to keep momentum. Kennedy Wilson '23 found the back of the net two more times to bring the team to a 4-0 lead. Grace Bishop '24 had a shutout for her first non-league game, making some great saves throughout both halves. Middlesex travels to Phillips Andover on Wednesday for a 3:30 game.
