The Middlesex Girls' Soccer team opened its 2022 campaign with a midweek visit to Dexter Southfield, a 2021 NEPSAC Class B quarter-finalist who was added to this year's schedule.
Dexter Southfield started the game on their front foot, as they quickly displayed a strong possession game and a willingness to play fast and strong. They scored their first goal in the 8th minute, and continued to apply a lot of pressure throughout the first half, which ended with Dexter Southfield leading 5-0. Middlesex responded well in the second half, and created some quality scoring chances late, but the damage was done when the final whistle sounded, with Dexter Southfield winning 6-0.
Middlesex returns to Chapel Field on Saturday to take on the Griffins of Pomfret School. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30.
