The Zebras traveled to Weston, Mass. to take on rival Rivers on a beautiful Saturday spring day. Middlesex came out strong with excellent leadership from seniors Abby Pratt, Brooke Nye, and Hannah Barron. Through patience and unselfish play, the Zebras notched three goals in the first five minutes. Rivers notched their first goal to make the score 3-1, but Middlesex answered 25 seconds later to keep the three-goal deficit. During the remaining 19 minutes of play, the Zebras notched 5 goals to Rivers 2, including a last second goal at the buzzer. The defensive unit was relentless and included smart play by Emma Poplyk, Brooke Nye, Siena Berardinelli, Charley DiAdamo, and Avery Taylor.
The Zebras continued to control the second half, finishing with a solid win on the day. All 7 attackers added points to the board, demonstrating the terrific balance and teamwork in the offensive end. Middlesex looks forward to the next ISL matchup at St. Mark's on Wednesday.
