Middlesex traveled to Rivers School on a sunny Saturday afternoon - it was the perfect day for tennis! In doubles play, Rivers took an early lead with an 8-2 win at the #3 spot. However, Ryan Noble '23 and Henry Brown '22 put Middlesex on the board with an 8-4 win at #2. All eyes then turned to the #1 match to determine which team would steal the doubles point. Julian Dai '22 and Stone Shen '22 fought hard but ultimately fell 7-8 (5), giving Rivers an early lead.

Hudson Hinckley '24 quickly tied up the match with a 6-0, 6-4 win at #5 singles. However, Rivers won four consecutive singles matches, ultimately clinching the victory as Julian Dai '22 fell 0-6, 4-6 at #2 singles. 

Though the match had been decided, both teams gathered to watch Ryan Noble '23 battle Ewen Robertson (Rivers) at #4 singles. After dropping the first set 4-6, Noble battled back to win the second 7-6. After a back-and-forth third set tiebreaker, Noble ultimately scored the second point for Middlesex with an 11-9 victory. 

Middlesex faces St. Sebastian's at home on Wednesday.
