MX threw their all in against Tabor, but with MX's two captains out for the match and everyone on the team playing up two spots, the Tabor team was just a bit stronger at each position, and triumphed 7-0. Junior Catherine Ripsteen at #5 played an excellent second game, moving her opponent around and using deft drop shots, but in the end her Tabor opponent prevailed in 4 games. At #7 freshman Ashwini Menon used strong backhand crosses and forehand straight drives to go up 8-6 in the fourth, but her Tabor opponent hit with intense power from that point on, to take the fourth game and the match. At #3 senior Catie Barry lost the first two games, but, with deft touch around the court, moved her opponent around effectively to take the next two games 11-7, 11-4 and bring the match to 9-9 in the fifth. On the last two points, however, Catie's Tabor opponent hit a pair of remarkable shots to prevail in a super close match.Â
