Notes:
BB&N hosted Middlesex under the lights on the last Wednesday of the ISL season for a thrilling end-to-end competition. All of the goals were scored in the first half and BB&N's man-of-the-match Thomas Angelone proved why he is one of the top finishers in the league. His first goal was an instant response to Middlesex taking the lead and his second came in the last two minutes of the half as he cut from left to right across the top of the penalty area to find himself with no ball pressure. Angelone unleashed a swerving strike that flew past the Middlesex keeper and just under the bar for the 2-1 halftime lead. Middlesex took a momentary lead in the first half as a Yared McDonald set piece found Zach Miles in the box. Miles showed persistence in finishing his chance for the 1-0 lead. Â
As exciting as the first half was, the second half exceeded that by quite a bit. Even though neither team found the back of the net in the second half, there were several great scoring chances for both teams. Aidan George stood out for a brilliant save of a shot that was rifled towards the top corner of the frame. Angelone and Mason Sullivan were the main threats for BB&N, while Yared McDonald, Lincoln Graham, and Teddy Fritzinger tested the BB&N keeper McNamara on several occasions. Zach Miles, Quinn Falvey, and Aidan O'Sullivan led the Middlesex back line. Middlesex had a slew of point blank chances on the BB&N net in the second half that just did not find the mark. It was a heartbreaker for the visitors, but respect to BB&N for a great match marked by quality all over the field.Â
