10/31/2022 11:17:00 AM

Middlesex Girls' Cross Country capped off its regular season with wins against Milton (21-36), Thayer (15-48), and Tabor (20-43) on a beautiful day at Washburn Park in Marion, Mass. In its last race of the regular season, the team continued to build momentum, as 13 of the 18 Middlesex athletes who crossed the line clocked all-time personal bests across the 5k distance. Sadie Millett again led the varsity squad, finishing in second place, six seconds off of Tabor's Bradley Weldon. Cassidy Bruno (3rd) and Anika Ata (4th) followed next, crossing the line ahead of Milton's top three runners. Angela Huffer (8th), Mitchell Ladd (9th), Stella Curwin-Amfitheatrof (10th), Catherine Bain (16th) and Kate McBride (17th) worked together throughout the race to cross the line in close succession, securing the team's undefeated regular season record within the ISL.

In the JV race, Middlesex beat Tabor and lost to Thayer and Milton. Maggie Cabot and Ella Coffin led the team, both passing several runners throughout the last mile to place second and third place respectively. Sawyer Rogers (12th), Florence Morlock (15th), Jade Xiao (20th), EJ Hemingway (27th), and Katie Chen (32nd) rounded out the JV top seven with strong performances. Jacquelyn Gao, Gaby Alonso, and Andrea Flores also put in great efforts for Middlesex.

The team looks forward to defending their 2021 win at the ISL Championships this coming Friday in Wrentham, Mass.
