Girls' Varsity Soccer Tops Dana Hall 3-1

10/21/2022 9:38:00 AM

Middlesex Girls' Soccer traveled down route 128 on Wednesday to play Dana Hall in Wellesley, on a beautiful fall afternoon. The team opened with good pace, and created some quality offensive opportunities right off the bat. Midway through the first half, Mia Williams '23 settled a cross from Blake Dewing '25 and deposited the ball in the net to give the Zebras a one-goal advantage, which stood through the half-time whistle. Dana Hall responded well once the teams returned to the field for the second half, creating their own opportunities, and goalkeeper Ella Labib '24 was up to the challenge. Middlesex scored again, this time on a well-placed shot by Julia Blum '25, who tucked the ball low and inside the near post to extend the lead to 2-0. Dana Hall got on the board by converting a penalty kick, cutting the Middlesex lead in half with about ten minutes to go. Undeterred, MXGVS kept pressing forward, and a last-minute goal by Maya Lloyd '25 sealed the victory, with a 3-1 final score.

Middlesex returns home to Chapel Field to take on perennial ISL power Noble & Greenough this Saturday, on what will be Middlesex's Family Weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00p.
