Middlesex Girls’ Cross Country Remains Undefeated in ISL After Quad Meet at Brooks

10/10/2022 9:08:00 AM

On a beautiful day for cross country, Middlesex Varsity Girls' Cross Country continued their winning streak at Brooks against Brooks, St. Mark's, and St. George's. Brooks' Kata Clark, the 2021 ISL Champion, ran a fantastic race for first, but Middlesex's Sadie Millett wasn't far behind, crossing the line in second just ten seconds later. Freshman Cassidy Bruno, running alone for much of the race, improved her personal best time by over one minute to take third behind Millett. Junior Mitchell Ladd followed next in sixth, leading the way for freshman Katie Tantillo (7th) and Stella Curwin-Amfitheatrof (9th), who both ran personal best times.

In the JV race, nearly all members of the Middlesex squad ran personal best races to contribute to a win against St. Mark's. St. George's School took first, besting both the Middlesex and St. Mark's JV teams. Sophomore Maggie Cabot ran a smart and gutsy race for second, followed closely by junior Sawyer Rogers (4th), junior Florence Morlock (6th), and sophomore Sophia Yang (9th). Sophomore Jacquelyn Gao (16th) improved her personal best time by nearly two minutes to score her first points for Middlesex as the team's fifth JV finisher.

The team is excited to build on its good momentum against Groton on our home course next weekend.
