Notes:
Middlesex traveled to St. Mark's to open the fall 2021 ISL season on a sunny and humid first match day.  The opening of the game had an even ebb and flow, as both teams looked to probe and figure out the best point of attack.  Yared McDonald opened the scoring for Middlesex in the 22nd minute when he picked off an errant pass in the midfield and wove past defenders before tucking home for the 1-0 lead.  McDonald was back at it in the 39th minute to get on the end of a long passing string that led to Julian Paton's run along the byline and ball that found McDonald in the box for his second finish of the half.  St. Mark's showed great resolve in the second half, as they defended with great energy.  Alden Mehta really stood out for the Lions and, for Middlesex, George Lin and Aidan Falvey had standout performances to go along with Yared McDonald's finishing touch.  Both teams competed hard and fairly, and the referee was able to keep his cards in his pocket for the entire 90 minutes.
