Notes:
Middlesex traveled to Pomfret for an early Class B match up and came out on the wrong side of a 2-1 result.  The match started brightly for the visitors, as sophomore Sinjin Doelitzsch was played into the box by Sky Platt '23 and was scythed down by a clumsy challenge for a penalty kick.  Yared McDonald '23 stepped up to slot home for a 1-0 lead for Middlesex that lasted until the halftime interval.
In the second half, the heat on the turf wore down the visitors as Pomfret seemed to gain more energy.  Pomfret set up a low block and looked to counterattack with numbers, but they hadn't created any scoring chances on frame until a penalty was awarded and Frederick Coulibaly converted to knot the score at 1-1.  The game from that point was tired and full of mistakes, but Pomfret clearly won the midfield battle and were rewarded in the 97th minute when a speculative effort from the right flank produced a rebound that was tucked home by Declan Chapman to the delight of the home supporters.  The final whistle went soon afterwards, and Middlesex was handed a cruel result for an evenly played contest.  Freshman Zach Miles stood out in defense for Middlesex in his first start.  Congratulations to Pomfret who celebrated the win after their perseverance had paid off.
