The traditional rivalry between Middlesex and St. George's produced another tense and even battle on the final match day of the ISL schedule. William Kim was a threat for St. George's and came closest to threatening the Middlesex net in the first half. In the 13
th minute, senior Julian Paton turned the corner and drove along the byline to find an open sophomore Aidan Falvey for an emphatic finish to the roof of the net for the 1-0 lead for the home team. Falvey broke through again soon afterwards with a breakaway that was stopped by Ryder Andersen in the St. George's net. The second half saw plenty of possession and attack from Middlesex and a number of threatening counterattacks for St. George's. The key moment of the second half was a great save by Aidan George in the Middlesex net from a set piece at the top of his penalty area to preserve the 1-0 victory. Both teams competed hard, and St. George's continued to push until the final whistle for an equalizer. Senior captain George Lin was the standout performer for Middlesex in preserving the shutout for the home team.Â
