After a tumultuous and emotional week on campus, the Girls' Soccer team was ready to hop on the bus and travel down to Dedham to take on perennial ISL powerhouse Noble & Greenough.
After the team gathered in a circle of unity before the opening whistle, it was clear that they were determined to put forth their best effort of the season. To be expected, Nobles was up to the challenge, and the teams played hard against each other throughout a scoreless first half.
Not to be denied, MXGVS dug deep and came out of halftime with renewed vigor. Middlesex created many opportunities, but the Nobles goalkeeper kept them off the board. With just a few minutes remaining in the game, Kennedy Wilson '23 gained possession in the Nobles half, dribbled to the top of the box, and fired a rocket into the Nobles net. The team erupted in celebration, and managed the final moments with poise until the final whistle blew. The team's best effort was rewarded with a just result at the end of a challenging week.
The Zebras take to the road again on Wednesday, as they travel to play Rivers. Kick off is scheduled for 3:30.
