Middlesex Girls' Varsity Soccer traveled north to Byfield, Mass. to take on Governor's Academy on an incredibly gorgeous October afternoon. Have we been lucky with the weather this fall!

The girls got off to a good start, creating some nice opportunities in the first half, but could not cash any in. On the opposite side, the defensive unit settled down after a couple early chances by Gov's. Halftime arrived with neither team getting on the board. 

The Zebras came out with renewed energy in the second half, pressing hard offensively and closing down space when they were dispossessed. The team effort paid off when Hannah Barron '22 created a dangerous opportunity, then dished the ball to Maya Lloyd '25, who finished for her first career MX goal! This ended being the lone tally of the game, as Middlesex held on for a good away win. Annabel Austen '22 secured her third clean sheet of the 2021 campaign, and the team's fourth shutout overall. 

The girls have a quick turnaround, as the team travels to Groton on Friday to renew their historic rivalry with Groton School. Kick off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
