Middlesex dropped a close meet to Landmark on the home mat by 36-43 scoreline, while earning many promising individual results that portended a brighter future for the young team.

Senior captain Alene Fernandes started things off with a quick first period fall over her opponent at 113 lbs. Sophomore Daniel Okyere and freshman Ben Doty also earned wins by fall as the Zebras went up 18-6 after four matches. After freshman Chester Boynton and sophomore Love Daley dropped hard-fought matches at 132 and 138, junior captain Connor Cross fell in an exciting back-and-forth contest with Josiah Castelucci from Landmark at 152, which saw Connor take a 4-2 into the final period.  Landmark earned victories at 160, 170 and 182 by fall, major decision and decision before sophomore Cam Fries thrilled the home crowd with a first period pin at 195, showcasing his trademark aggressive and fast-paced style. Junior Axel Romell and sophomore Nick DeBruin closed out the meet with similarly thrilling victories by fall.

The Zebras fell to 2-4 on the season before Saturday's tri-meet at Governor's Academy with BB & N.
