The Middlesex Boys' Soccer team took their non-league record to 3-0-0 in 2019 with a convincing performance and second straight shutout win over an organized and determined Pingree side. The lone goal of the match came in the 25
th minute when Kwabena Kwakwa drove deep past several defenders to pick out Andrew Parker for a comfortable finish. Kwakwa produced a man-of-the-match performance, as he covered every blade of grass on the field and tormented the host of defenders tasked with containing him throughout the ninety minutes. Were the finishing sharper for Middlesex the score line would have been more in control, but the defense was solid in limiting the visitors to no clear-cut scoring chances and yielding no corner kicks in the match. Alfonso DeVito earned his second shutout of the season with thanks to his defenders limiting chances and the significant possession of the ball by Middlesex. Ollie Cheever and George Lin were tidy in the backline and Jake Zaas supported Parker and Kwakwa with strong defensive effort and effective ball movement. He also tested the keeper from range with a knuckling drive that wound up going straight into the keeper's chest. Timi Ojo chipped in with another notable performance in both attack and midfield and he also came the closest to a second goal as he headed onto the post in the second half from a corner kick.  Middlesex will hit the training ground for the next few days to work on the details and get sharper before opening the ISL campaign away to St. Mark's this coming Saturday.
