After the first full week of school, the Middlesex Boys' Soccer team traveled to Pomfret, CT to take on the Griffins. Walker Massey scored the eventual match winner for Middlesex in the first half, as he turned to bury a ball from Anyolo Makatiani at close range. Junior keeper Alfonso DeVito went the distance in the net to earn his first shutout of the young season and his 24
th overall in his Middlesex career. Defender Colin Kroll was outstanding for Pomfret and keeper Andrew Lufkin made several big stops in their net as they faced waves of slow and fast attack. For Middlesex, Kwabena Kwakwa and Anyolo Makatiani were a constant threat with positive support from Timi Ojo. Andrew Parker, Ollie Cheever and sophomore Jake Zaas were excellent at dominating the midfield and stringing passes together throughout the match. Middlesex is right back at it on Monday as they host Pingree at 4:15 in Concord.Â
