Groton played an unearned run in the third inning and it held up for a 1-0 win over Middlesex in ISL baseball play on May 4. The loss dropped Middlesex's record to 3-5 in the league.

Middlesex threatened on several occasions during the game, none more than putting runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. The rally was thwarted by a tremendous diving catch by the Groton center fielder on a blooper to center and a lineout. Middlesex went quietly in the last of the seventh to give Groton the victory.

Kyle Wolff pitched 5 stellar innings while striking out 7 for Middlesex.
