The Middlesex Girls' Varsity Tennis team won its match against BB&N 10 - 5 Saturday afternoon. Middlesex hosted both BB&N varsity tennis matches back to back on a bright, sunny day for our Alumni Weekend. The matches drew a crowd of past students, former team members, and parent and student fans.
Neha Kommineni '22 led the Zebras' singles lineup at #1. Every player was asked to step up (at least) one position, and even so, each scored at least one point for MX, with our underclassmen boasting outstanding performances. Kommineni outlasted her opponent and won both of her sets handily. Both sets were also secured by Marissa Fadely '22 at #2 and Katy Qin '21 at #6. Averill Emery '20 and Jessie Andrews '21 split sets with their opponents and contributed to the overall team win.Â
With the match secured heading into doubles, all of our pairs went out and played their best. The final point was captured by Andrews and Margaret Rand '19 at #2.Â
Our team will put in two quality practices and travel to Brooks this Wednesday.
