On a sunny and warm April afternoon, the MX Golf team opened the season with a win and a loss in a tri-match against St. Sebastian's and The Governor's Academy at Concord Country Club. MX Golf defeated Gov's 6-1 and lost to St. Seb's by the same score, 1-6. Freshman Iris Wang playing #1 for the Zebra's was the only player to earn points in both matches. She was able to defeat the St. Sebastian's player 1 up and put the Gov's player down 4&2. Also earning points in the victory were Pavel Akmaev playing at #3 (2 &1), Gavin Cassidy playing at #4 (4&3), Corey Sarazin playing at #5(3&2) Captain Brian Cloherty at #6(2 &1) and Luke Andresen playing at #7 (1 up).
Prior to the matches, Brian Cloherty informed both visiting teams that the team has dedicated the season to their teammate David Andrysiak. All three teams observed a moment of silence following Brian's wonderful words.
The next match will be a dual match with Nobles on Monday April 22 at Concord Country Club at 3:30.
