The Zebras took on Nobles today in a back-and-forth battle.  Nobles struck first in the first minute, but Middlesex answered on a terrific goal by Clarissa Hurley.  The teams traded goals until the 8 minutes remaining when the score was 4-4.  Nobles capitalized in the remaining minutes of the half notching four goals despite several good knockdowns by the Zebra defense.  Alex Fehnel opened up the second half with a key goals, but Nobles matched two minutes later to keep the lead.  Middlesex refused to give up and battled for every draw and ground ball led by inspirational play by Daisy Boynton, Clarissa Hurley, Carly Tilson, and Hannah Barron in the midfield and defense.  The Zebras went on a quick three goal scoring streak thanks to the offensive work of Hurley, Fehnel, and Barron, forcing the Bulldogs to take a timeout.  With time dwindling, Middlesex was forced to pressure out on defense and Nobles took advantage by adding four goals in the remaining five minutes to Middlesex's two.  Freshman goalie, Annabel Austen, with just weeks of experience, notched ten impressive saves and 90% successful clears.  While the Zebras were disappointed in the outcome, this young team brought their play to a new level today and will be ready to take on Milton on Wednesday.
