Middlesex traveled to Exeter on Wednesday and played well, but was unable to prevail in any of the matches, though a number of them were very close. Though she won the opening game with strong straight hitting and some fine touch at the front, junior Averill Emery, playing three, couldn't quite respond to her opponent's low crosses and drops and lost 3-1 in a terrific battle. Also winning a game with some fine play were senior Syona Shaw at #2, senior Margaret Rand at #4, and sophomore Amelia Stevens at #6.
