Middlesex had a sloppy opening game against Cushing Academy on Wednesday. The Zebras struggled to find their offense, and while the game was close in the first half, despite Middlesex turnovers, eventually Cushing overpowered the Zebras by executing on offense. Middlesex got into foul trouble early and two senior starters fouled out. Middlesex cut it to nine with about three minutes left, but was unable to close the gap. While only a minor setback, there are some good takeaways and a lot to learn as we start the season. The team will regroup on Thursday and take a long drive to Tabor on Friday. Our first home game is next Wednesday against Governors.
