It was a tale of two halves, as BB&N took control for the last 20 minutes of the first half to put their stamp on a 2-0 halftime lead. The first fifteen minutes had solid ball movement and buildup from both teams, but the match changed with BB&N's first significant scoring chance in the 34
th minute. Jon Klein drifted wide to the right and served a back-post ball for Matt Thompson to thunder home with his head for the 1-0 lead. Just six minutes later, Diego Garcia played Thompson in on the floor for a close-range finish to extend the lead to 2-0. BB&N finished out the half with sustained pressure in the Middlesex half and the hosts were thankful for the halftime whistle as a chance to regroup.Â

The second half started well for the home team and just seven minutes in, Jake Zaas curled a ball to the left side of the goal for Ollie Cheever to bury a one-time punched volley with the inside of his foot into the far side net. The game was on the verge of turning for the next fifteen minutes until a BB&N clearance came out to Cheever, who one touched it into the feet of Kwabena Kwakwa in the middle of the field. Kwakwa turned on his defender and blasted the ball into the net from 25 yards out with his second touch to level the contest at 2-2. Middlesex continued to apply pressure and in the 68
th minute a loose touch in the BB&N midfield was pressed by Kwakwa who took the turnover and quickly fed Liam Tasker, who made a streaking run through the middle. Tasker had time to take a touch at the top of the box and open his hips to tuck the ball past the onrushing keeper for the 3-2 lead. The home team managed the game well from there and kept possession for long stretches to see the game out. In the second minute of added time, Anyolo Makatiani took a ball played to the outside of the box from Andrew Parker down and proceeded to weave and dribble past a few defenders to walk in on goal and slot home the decisive fourth goal to complete the remarkable turnaround.Â
BB&N was an organized and very talented group who showed many reasons why they have enjoyed so much success this season. For Middlesex, it was clearly the best 45-minute performance of the season in the second half and a resilient comeback from the first half deficit.Â
