Notes:
A beautiful fall Parents' Weekend day turned out to be a tough performance for the Middlesex boys as they dropped a result to Thayer, 3-2.  The match was defined by the first eight minutes, as Middlesex gifted two goals to the visitors with errant passes in the back and no ball pressure in front of their own net.  The score was 2-0 to Thayer before eight minutes had passed and a switch in formation brought Middlesex back into the half.  In the 26th minute, Andrew Parker was brought down in the Thayer penalty area, but Sean Wallace saved Kwabena Kwakwa's penalty with a diving push around the post.  With the first chance to get back in the game past them, Middlesex kept coming and were rewarded with a close range headed goal from Ollie Cheever off of a pin-point service from Kwabena Kwakwa in the 32nd minute.  Just as the momentum had appeared to turn, the Middlesex defense was soft again in applying ball pressure and allowed Bradford Campbell to ease past for a finish less than two minutes later to extend the Thayer lead to 3-1.  At the interval, Middlesex got organized and the second half was as dominant a performance as they have seen in recent years, but the finishing touch was simply not to be found.  The one goal of the half came just seven minutes in as Walker Massey darted past the back line of Thayer and slotted home past the onrushing keeper to make the score 3-2.  With 37 minutes remaining and the amount of possession in the Thayer half and open net scoring chances created by Middlesex it was quite a surprise that the match ended as a 3-2 loss.  Hats off to the Thayer boys for defending staunchly with 10 men behind the ball for most of the match.  As dismal as the first half performance was for Middlesex, the second half was the complete opposite.  The possession, spacing and ball movement created chance after chance for the Middlesex attackers.  Had any of the golden chances been put into the open net the result would have been salvaged, but it was not to be.
