Middlesex Girls' Soccer returned to ISL action Saturday as they traveled down Rt. 128 to take on the defending NEPSAC Class A Champion, Noble & Greenough.
Nobles presented a challenging lineup for Middlesex, as they played with quick passing and great movement off the ball. It took some time for the MX girls to find their footing, but they eventually settled into the game nicely. However, Nobles took advantage of some extended possessions, and were able to notch 2 goals before the halftime whistle.
MXGVS came out with much better energy in the second half and held the territorial advantage for the first ten minutes of the second stanza. However, Nobles' defense was up to the challenge, and they were able to generate good counter-attacks and pressure along Middlesex's defensive end line. Two more goals in the second half pushed the game out of reach, with the final result Nobles 4, Middlesex 0.
Middlesex continue their road show as they travel to Rivers for a 3:30 kick-off on Wednesday.
