The Middlesex Girls' Cross Country team notched two more wins over host Rivers and BB&N in their race at Burchard Park in Weston. The individual winner of the girls race, Addy Vettel from Rivers, led from wire to wire and impressed the homecoming crowd with a course record. Following her, however, was a string of seven Middlesex runners (Gabby Walsh, Grace Hu, Annabelle Rogers, Alene Fernandes, Meena Menon, Jillian Robertson, and Josie Silk) who took places 2 through 8 in the varsity race, securing the team win for Zebras.  Our second seven was led by senior captain Nina Douge, who ran her second PR in as many weeks as she finished 10th in the race, ahead of the 2nd runner from both opponent schools.  She was followed by Mariam Craig (14th), Maya Sidhu (18th), Amelia Stevens (22nd), Grace Luettgen (24th), Megan Ding (26th), and Phoebe Lu (29th).  With the win today, our second seven extends their regular season win streak that goes back to the second race of 2017. All 27 racers ran hard, but special congratulations are owed to Ellie Ragosa and Lily Weinstein who had particularly impressive improvements (2+ minutes!) in their personal best times.  PRs were also earned by Grace H, Annabelle, Josie, Nina D, Megan Ding, Justine Lam, and Linda Qin.  Congrats to all!


Though it is bittersweet, the team is looking forward to hosting our final regular season quad meet next weekend for our Parents Weekend crowd.
