Middlesex Girls' Soccer traveled to Groton for the second time this season, this time to take on Groton School on the Friday before Fall Long Weekend. The threat of poor weather never came to fruition, although the game was played under overcast skies.
Â
Middlesex started on the good foot in this contest, establishing possession all over the field, and quickly closing space when they were dispossessed. Middlesex was able to create a number of good scoring chances in front of the net, but unfortunately the girls were unable to put the ball into the back of the net. As the game progressed, Groton also created some solid scoring opportunities, and goalie Ali Joseph '20 was up the task on every occasion. Both teams continued to play well-constructed possession games, and the play flowed from box to box, but neither team was able to find that elusive goal. The final whistle blew with Middlesex having to settle for its third tie in a row, 0-0.

After the Long Weekend, Middlesex returns to Chapel Field to take on Dana Hall. Kick-off is Wednesday at 3:30.
