Middlesex girls' cross country had another great day of racing on the beautiful and newly improved St. Mark's course.  The team earned decisive victories in all contests, with great teamwork, favorable weather, and poised and composed racing.  The team was led by senior captain Maud McCole, who won for the race for the third time in as many weeks.  She was followed very closely by junior Gabby Walsh, and senior captain Charlotte O'Toole was third in the race and for the team.  Junior Alene Fernandes passed the St. Mark's second runner in the last mile to finish 5th, and Meena Menon was the fifth and final scorer for the team in 7th place.  She was followed closely by freshman Annabelle Rogers, who nearly held off the St. Mark's third runner to finish 9th.  Sophomore Jillian Robertson had her first varsity finish of the season to come in 10th, scoring displacement points against the Lawrence and St. Mark's teams.

In the JV race-within-a-race, Middlesex was led by sophomore Grace Hu, who won the contest, finishing not far behind teammate Jillian in 11th overall.  She was followed by freshmen Josie Silk (2nd JV/12th overall), sophomore Grace Luettgen (3rd/14th), senior captain Tess Kelley (4th/15th), senior Soleil Kerfoot (5th/17th) and sophomore Amelia Stevens (6th/18th) who secured the perfect score JV win for the zebras.  Junior Phoebe Lu rounded out the Mx 7 in 9th for the JV and 25th overall.

The whole team deserves to be commended for their composure and toughness in the team's first away race.  Personal best times were run by Annabelle, Josie, Graces Hu and Luettgen, Maanasi Chintamani, Linda Qin, and Iris Wang.  The team is proud and excited to be 6-0 heading into their fourth week of racing.
