Middlesex traveled to Andover to take on the Big Blue on Thursday September 20th in what became a fast and physical battle. Middlesex played well, anchored by an exceptional performance in goal by Ali Joseph '20 and strong defensive play from the back line. Throughout the first half, Middlesex countered Andover's speed up top with quick ball movement to generate some strong offensive chances and challenging the Andover keeper, but the Zebras were unable to find the back of the net. Conversely Andover scored its first goal before the end of the first half with a strong shot outside the 18. Middlesex regrouped during halftime to battle hard for the final 40 minutes utilizing the wings and moving the ball against a formidable Andover backline. As Middlesex pressed to even the score, Andover tallied its second goal late in the second half to seal the game. It was a great team effort by the Zebras who look forward to hosting its ISL league opener against St. Mark's on Saturday September 22nd!
