Notes:            The 2018 ISL regular season kicked off in fine fashion for the Middlesex Boys' Soccer squad, as they hosted the Lions from St. Mark's on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Concord. St. Mark's pressed hard for the first few minutes, creating a dangerous corner kick service for Luca Vicinelli, but Middlesex transitioned well and Josh Quirk played a perfect ball across the box for Anyolo Makatiani to bury with his first touch of the match. Jacob Charles then increased his scoring tally on the year to nine, with two goals between minutes 30 and 36. Both goals were the result of excellent penetrating passes from Kwabena Kwakwa and Josh Quirk, respectively. With a 3-0 halftime score line, the game settled into steady possession until Anyolo Makatiani benefitted from a strong pressing move to convert the resulting breakaway for the 4-0 score line. Micah Dwiranti stood out in the back for St. Mark's, while the control and balance of center backs Justin Krayer and Justin D'Alessandro was outstanding for Middlesex.
