Notes:            The Middlesex Boys' Varsity Soccer Team hosted a talented and hard-working Pingree squad on a humid Saturday in Concord. After the match settled in the first ten minutes, the chances at goal began to materialize for Middlesex. In the 16
th minute, a combination of passes sprung junior midfielder Ollie Cheever to the byline inside the box where he played a ball to an open Jacob Charles to bury for a 1-0 lead. The game ebbed and flowed, while Pingree looked to hit through the counterattack via the dangerous Oliver Pinyochon, until senior Justin D'Alessandro won a crucial transition just outside the box in the 38
th minute and played to Jacob Charles for a finish that extended the halftime margin to 2-0. Middlesex put the contest out of reach in the 55
th minute, as Josh Quirk buried a powerful side net finish from a Haydn Herrema assist. Kenyon Pelletier and Alfonso De Vito combined for the clean sheet in goal, and senior Justin Krayer stood out in the back for Middlesex. Next up is a visit from Class B power Pomfret on Monday at 5:15p, as Middlesex continues to seek improvement, control the game, and find balance between defense and attack.
