Boys' Varsity Tennis Closes 2018 Season with Big Win Against St. George's

5/29/2018 10:29:00 AM

The Boys' Varsity Tennis team played their final match of the 2018 season on a beautiful spring Friday afternoon at home against St. George's. The boys came out ready to play and showcased their best tennis as they only lost sets at #6?? singles and #3 doubles, which was decided in a tie-break, to win 13-2. The win brings the team's ISL record to 11-4 for the season, which earns them a fourth place finish in the league.

Led by junior captain Justin Krayer '19 and seniors Alexander Berntsen '18, Jonathan Cao '18, and Daniel Kerfoot '18, this was a remarkable season for the team, highlighted by the first bid in six years to the New England tournament. The team advanced to the semi-finals of the NEPSAC Class B tournament, before losing to eventual champions, Brunswick. The three departing seniors will be missed next season, but with a strong returning core group, the team is optimistic and eager to build upon this season's successes in the 2019 season.
