The Zebras came out determined and focused to take on an athletic BBN squad. The Zebras notched the first two goals on terrific off-ball movement by Lizzie Ayer to open up Alex Fehnel and Lucie Gildehaus for the goals. BBN fired back with a fast break off the draw, but Middlesex answered in less than a minute to take a 3-1 lead. While BBN brought the deficit to 1, their second goal of the game at the 15 minute mark would be their last of the half. The defensive unit stiffened and played excellent team defense to stymie the BBN offense. At the attacking end, the offense played together and Marina Bevacqua, Fehnel, and Gildehaus combined for five more goals to take an 8 goal lead at halftime.
In the second half, BBN had possession for many minutes, but the Middlesex defense continued to turn them away under the leadership of Hughes, MacKeigan, and Fischer. Carly Tilson, Nico Roark, and Daisy Boynton combined for several caused turnovers and successful transitions up field. Maddie MacMaster was ruthless on the draw and found the back of the net twice in the second half to secure the win.
