The Middlesex Girls' Tennis team won its match against Lawrence Academy 15 - 0 in a great team win, in which every player present scored a point for the Zebras. Rain pushed the match inside on the Middlesex home indoor courts.Â
Because of the moved location, the match began with doubles. All Middlesex doubles teams worked well together to construct points by moving around their opponents to create openings and put the ball away. Jessica Andrews '21 and Margaret Rand '19 at #3, Madeline Graham '18 and Averill Emery '20 at #2, and captain Helen Lasry '18 along with Maud McCole '19 all won their 8-game pro-sets handily.Â
Players set out for singles as the doubles matches concluded. Led by Lasry at #1, the Zebras were focused on maintaining their level of play and working to effectively set up and execute points. Both sets were bagged by Lasry, McCole, Graham, Emery, Parker Firestone '21, and Andrews.
The team will put in two focused practices before facing the Rivers School on Saturday.Â
