The Zebras were poised and patient in their first contest against out-of-league opponent Dexter-Southfield.  Middlesex won the first two draws, but took four minutes to notch two assisted goals from Alex Fehnel and Sophie MacKeigan to Madde MacMaster and Clarissa Hurley.  While Southfield answered with a goal to make it 2-1, that would be their last in the half until 42 seconds remained.  The defense, led by Fish and Silk, created many caused turnovers and then successfully transitioned the ball to the attack unit.  Hurley, Gildehaus, MacMaster, Hughes, and Fehnel combined for six more goals in the half.  In the second half, the Zebras continued to rally with solid ground ball play by Lizzie Cunningham.  Sophomore Hayden Monahan finished the game with two goals in the remaining ten minutes, one off a beautiful feed by Marina Bevacqua. Â
