In the first half, both teams came out shooting the ball extremely well, with each recording seven 3-pointers in the half. MX held a 34-29 lead at the break.
In the second half St. Sebastian's ran off a 15-1 run to grab the lead as it took MX nearly seven minutes to make its first basket of the half. But the Zebras answered with a 19-5 run of thier own. After falling behind 44-35, a coast-to-coast layup by Julian Howell tied the contest at 47 with six minutes to go. On the ensuing possession, Michael Doherty hit his third 3 pointer of the game to give MX the lead for good.
In the closing moments, both teams missed free throws until Kai Morris rebounded a Seb's miss with two seconds remaining and a one point lead. Morris connected on both of his attempts.
Julian Howell had a tremendous overall stat line with 13 points, and game highs with 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Tyler Gelormini led MX in scoring with 17 points and a pair of huge offensive rebounds during the second half run. Mike Doherty and Matt Pelletier each had 9 points and Derek Demarzo contributed 8.
Middlesex moves to 12-7 on the season.
