Traditionally, many of our seasons have followed the energy of outcome of our early-season match against Concord Academy. Despite the timeframe of the match--early in December, before the bulk of our season--it is a very significant match for us come the end of the season and tournament seeding. This year, the boys' team prepared very well for this match and they were rewarded with a strong 7-0 win. Significant matches occurred at the number 4 and 8 spots. Sam Barton dropped his first game, only to rebound quickly and win in four games. Peter Maheras had a very difficult match at number 8, but he was able to pull it out in the end in a close fifth game. The boys team followed up this strong performance against Concord Academy with impressive performances at the annual Jackson tournament at Brooks. This yearly play-date offers our players a lot of experience and a chance to see what the competition for the year looks like. The team is off until the new year. We hope to start strong come January!
