The team traveled to Brooks to face ISL rivals Brooks and Thayer Thursday afternoon. The Zebras won 12 of 14 matches wrestled on the day.  In the first match against Thayer Academy, Middlesex finished with a score of 57 to 12.  Captain Michael Acevedo continued his successful senior campaign with a win by a score of 5-0.  This was followed by Diego Flores gaining a pin in the first period. Captain Ted Pyne, last years New England Champion at 152 lbs, also secured the pin in the first period and with a shorthanded Thayer team giving up forfeits, the match quickly became out of reach for Thayer, earning Middlesex their 7th win on the season. Jack Caniff also added 6 points by fall in 35 seconds.

In the second match, Middlesex won 8 of 9 matches wrestled against Brooks with 7 pins and one major decision over the Brooks team. Peter Daichman mastered his opponent with a major decision 9-0 and Michael Acevedo won by decision. Next were pins by Diego Flores and Dante Gutbrod, both taking down their opponents and turning them for 6 point falls. This was followed by a forfeit to captain Ted Pyne and Sean Tanabe fought a great match and put forth a valiant effort but suffered the lone defeat against the Brooks team. Jack Caniff, Alek Kebabjian, and Derek Delaine all secured pins, bringing the wrestling team to their feet with excitement and congratulations. The final match was won by Jaden Chew, who worked his opponent over with skill and speed to gain a first period pin.

The team is set to hold its first quad match at home on January 20th at 2:30PM in the Cage followed by an Alumni event celebrating Middlesex Wrestling.
