The Zebras hosted ISL rival BB&N on Friday and prevailed 7-0. At #1, junior Syona Shah won decisively by sticking to her game plan of using the back corners and also by displaying excellent court coverage. Also winning 3-0 were junior Mira Handa at #2, senior Nina Thomas at #3, sophomore Averill Emery at #4, and senior Annabelle Ayer at #6. At #7, freshman Natalie McCall prevailed 3-1 in a hard-fought match by hitting with strong length and power at key moments, and at #5, junior Margaret Rand fought back from losing the first game to her hard-hitting opponent to prevail 11-8 in the fifth--Margaret's artful serving, improved length, and drops at key moments made the difference in the long, back-and-forth match.
