The Middlesex Zebras faced a well-disciplined Groton squad on a beautiful spring day in New England. The Middlesex squad came out a bit sluggish, and the Groton players capitalized, taking a 4-3 lead at the half. The Zebra squad refocused at halftime and the players made some significant changes in the second half. Playing together as a unit, the Middlesex Zebras notched terrific team goals as the offensive unit and stymied the Groton attack on defense. Seven players added goals and assists for Middlesex in a 9-1 run in the second half. Alex Fehnel dominated on attack with four goals and two assists on the day and both goalies, Fischer and DeSimone combined for several saves in the defensive end.
