The Middlesex Boys' Varsity Crews traveled to the Nashua River to face Groton.  In a tail current, crews flew down the short 1250-meter course, which also includes two challenging turns. The 4V struggled on this unfamiliar course and fell to Groton by 18 seconds. The 3V race was a close one; understroking Groton the whole way, Middlesex lost ground on the final turn, and Groton finished 4 seconds ahead.  It was a close race for the 2Vs as well, as Middlesex maintained a consistent pace to keep overlap with Groton. The Groton 2V coxswain took a hard line around the final turn to gain ground, crossing the line 11 seconds ahead.  The Middlesex 1V looked strong and controlled off the line, maintaining contact with Groton through the first half of the race and ultimately finishing the course in under 4 minutes, behind Groton by 7 seconds.

Middlesex travels to the Charles River on Saturday to race BB&N.
