The Zebras beat an athletic and talented Rivers squad with a second half offensive and defensive surge.  While Middlesex always had the lead, the Red Wings brought the score to 7-8 by the end of the first half.  However, the Zebra defensive squad led by senior captains Kat French and Shannon Wing tightened up in the second half and played relentlessly to shut Rivers out.  The surge was initiated by an outstanding caused turnover play from the captain defensive duo.  This gave the Zebras momentum at both ends of the field leading to terrific goal scoring opportunities and excellent defensive plays by both the field players and goalie Fischer.  Five players added to the fourteen goals and freshman Carly Tilson stepped into the defensive unit to help the team today.
