Middlesex defeat Nobles 3-0 in Boys' Varsity Soccer behind a Jacob Charles Hat Trick

11/1/2017 6:12:00 PM

Middlesex hosted Nobles on the first November match day and gained a 3-0 victory, with large thanks to a hat trick from Jacob Charles.  Harry Roberts and Michael Balleani combined well and were dangerous in the first half for Nobles, and Joe Todd made some great second half saves for the visitors.  In the 15th minute, Haydn Herrema played an incisive ball at the top of the box for Jacob Charles to turn on and hammer off the underside of the crossbar.  Nobles enjoyed some sustained pressure in the Middlesex half for long spells of the first half, but the defending was resolute.  Middlesex increased the pressure in the second half, and after a half hour of play Charles found the net twice in rapid succession, both set up by his attacking partner Josh Quirk.  The Nobles boys continued to work hard until the final whistle and Sam Hollister's leadership was impossible to miss.  For Middlesex, Pelletier and De Vito shared the clean sheet with Justin Krayer and Justin D'Alessandro providing solid leadership at the back.  Haydn Herrema stood out in the midfield, and Josh Quirk and Anyolo Makatiani supported the attack well, but the match ball has to go to Jacob Charles for his three goals.
