Middlesex faced a resilient and energetic Governor's team on a Wednesday road trip, and came away with two second-half goals to seal the victory. Connor Mooney stood out for Gov's, and had a bicycle kick saved from the top corner by Alfonso De Vito in the second half. The first half was an open and back and forth match with a frenetic pace and limited clear chances. The second half opened with a post struck for both sides in the first three minutes, and then Middlesex enjoyed some sustained attack and found the opening in the 63
rd minute when Josh Quirk served a perfect back post ball to Jacob Charles for the one time leaping finish. The lead was doubled in the 78
th minute when a service from Haydn Herrema dropped to Charles again in the box and he put it away for the final tally. The Gov's boys deserve a great deal of praise for their relentless effort and unwavering competitiveness. Andrew Parker, Ollie Cheever, Jack Lousararian, and Haydn Herrema were the strength behind the Middlesex pressure in the midfield, and keepers Pelletier and De Vito shared the clean sheet.
